Eurozone consumer confidence worsens slightly in July

The European Commission (EC) said on Thursday its flash estimate showed the consumer confidence indicator for the Eurozone fell by 0.3 points to -15.0 in July from an unrevised -14.7 in the previous month. Economists had expected the index to improve to -12.0.

Considering the European Union (EU) as a whole, consumer sentiment was unchanged at -15.6.

Both indicators remained well below their long-term averages of -11.1 (Eurozone) and -10.5 (EU).
