The employment
report prepared by Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP) and Moody's Analytics
showed on Wednesday the U.S. private employers added 167,000 jobs in July.
Economists had
expected an increase of 1,500,000.
The June number
saw a dramatic upward revision to 4,314,000 from the originally reported 2,369,000.
“The labor
market recovery slowed in the month of July,” noted Ahu Yildirmaz, vice
president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. “We have seen the slowdown
impact businesses across all sizes and sectors.”
