Head of UK’s government legal department Jones has quit over Brexit withdrawal agreement changes - FT reports

The Financial Times (FT) reportsciting two officials with knowledge of the situation, that the UK's Treasury solicitor and permanent secretary of the Government Legal Department, Jonathan Jones, was leaving his position due to his disagreement with the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's plans to challenge critical parts of the 2019 Brexit withdrawal agreement.

According to sources, Jones said he was “very unhappy” about the decision to overwrite parts of the Northern Ireland protocol with new powers in the UK internal market bill.
