U.S. business inventories increase 0.7 percent in October

The Commerce Department announced on Wednesday that business inventories rose 0.7 percent m-o-m in October, following a revised 0.8 percent m-o-m advance in September (originally a 0.7 percent m-o-m gain).

That was in line with economists’ forecast for a 0.7 percent m-o-m increase.

According to the report, inventories at wholesalers jumped 1.1 percent m-o-m in October, while stocks at retailers rose 0.9 percent m-o-m and those at manufacturers edged up 0.2 percent m-o-m.
