“In another indication that an invasion of Ukraine may be very close to taking place, Russian military leaders have gone to their command center, and cyberattacks are underway,” ABC News reports, citing a US official.  

“Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, believes any invasion has to happen during the night,” the official said.

Market reaction

The risk sentiment remains heavy amid heightened uncertainty and an imminent Russian invasion of the Ukrainian land.

The S&P 500 futures are down 0.42% on the day, gold trades near fresh eight-month highs of $1,914 while AUD/USD is testing bullish commitments at the 0.7200 level.
