The European Commission announced the consumer confidence indicator for the Eurozone rose 0.5 points to -7.4 in early February from -7.9 in January.
Economists had expected consumer confidence to come in at -7.8.
Considering the European Union as a whole, consumer sentiment increased 0.6 points to -7.2 this month from January's two-and-a-half-year low.
Both indicators stood well above their respective long-term averages of -11.3 (Eurozone) and -10.5 (EU).
