A report from the University of Michigan revealed on Friday the
preliminary reading for the Reuters/Michigan index of consumer sentiment fell
to 96.9 in early April.
Economists had expected the index would decrease to 98.0 this month from
March’s final reading of 98.4
According to the report, the index of current U.S. economic conditions
rose to 114.2in April from 113.3 in the previous month. Meanwhile, the index of
consumer expectations fell to 85.8this month from 88.8 in March.
