It is the largest drop in a month since the start of the series (1980). The composite indicator, compiled from the answers of business managers in the main market sectors, has fallen to 62: this level is the lowest since the start of the series; the previous lowest level was 69 and was reached in March 2009.

In April 2020, the employment climate has lost 25 points, after losing 11 in March. At 70, it stands at its lowest level since the start of the series (1991); the previous lowest level was 71 and was reached in March and May 2009.
