The European Commission (EC) reported on Tuesday its flash estimate showed the consumer confidence indicator for the Eurozone rose by 1.8 points to -3.3 in June from an unrevised -5.1 in the previous month. This was the highest reading since January 2018.

Economists had expected the index to increase to -3.0.

Considering the European Union (EU) as a whole, consumer sentiment also improved by 1.5 points to -4.5.

Given this month’s gains, both indicators are now well above their pre-pandemic levels.
