PBoC sets USD/CNY reference rate at 7.1798 vs. 7.1717 previous

On Thursday, the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) set the USD/CNY central rate for the trading session ahead at 7.1798, compared with the previous day's fix of 7.1717 and 7.3239 estimated.

  • PBOC injects 508 billion in open market operations (OMOs) via 7-day RR, sets rate at 1.80%, and 105 billion Yuan via 14-day RR, sets rate at 1.95%.
  • 169 billion Yuan of RRs mature today and thus a net 440 billion Yuan injection on the day in OMOs.
